Franklin County voters will get a chance to decide if they want a sales tax increase to build a new courthouse.
The county's Board of Commissioners approved placing a one percent sales tax increase on the April 4th ballot.
A written release from the county board says the tax increase would be used solely for public facilities' purposes to build a new courthouse.
The sales tax hike has a proposed sunset provision of 20 years.
The current courthouse was built in 1875.
