Primary Voter Turnout Lagging

Illinois State Board of Election officials  say voter turnout is down based on initial information from counties.Jim Tenuto says  so far, somewhere between 20 to 25 percent of registered voters are are taking primary ballots.
Average percentages are closer to 30 percent, though 2008 was an exception.

Tenuto says when Barack Obama was fighting for the Democratic nomination, 40 percent of registered voters in Illinois participated in the primary.
