A Pulaski County man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to firing gunshots in Carbondale last year.

The Jackson County State's Attorney says 25-year-old Devante Taylor of Olmstead was sentenced to eight years on the charge of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
In May of last year, Taylor admitted to firing shots into the air and in the direction of a group of people. The shots hit a residence on South Crestview Lane. This came after a heated argument when a resident asked Taylor to move his vehicle.

After firing the shots, Taylor fled the area in the vehicle. A short time later, police in Williamson County stopped him and found a Glock pistol under the hood of the vehicle.
