Nicklow Finalist for Engineering Dean at Western Michigan

SIU

Former SIU Carbondale Provost John Nicklow is a finalist for Engineering Dean at Western Michigan University.

The Kalamazoo based school announced the three finalists Thursday.    Nicklow is scheduled to visit the Western Michigan campus on November 18th.   If selected he would lead their College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.    The college has been under interim leadership since July 2013.

The other finalists are Dr. Houssam A. Toutanji, professor and chair of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Dr. James F. Klausner, Ebaugh Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida and program director with the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Nicklow returned to SIUC's College of Engineering in July of this year after he was reassigned following the departure of former SIUC Chancellor Rita Cheng.
