John A. Logan College's incoming president got to meet the entire campus community and the general public Thursday during a special reception on the Carterville campus.
Mike Dreith says his first priority will be to determine how to define the success of Logan's students and how performance based funding will impact that. Dreith comes to Logan at a time when state funding of community colleges is at a critically low level. But in his current job as president of Western Texas College, Dreith says he is used to dealing with budget problems. The Metro East native will take over at Logan on July 1st. He replaces the retiring Bob Mees.
