A Natural Health Expo is Coming to Carbondale on Nov. 5

Flyer

An upcoming event in Carbondale will bring natural health practitioners together in one place.

The 2nd annual Women's Health Naturally Expo and Workshops features 30 practitioners with workshop that will include "Finding the Root Cause of Illness" as well as yoga and a cardio-dance workout.
Event coordinator Terry Hickey of Dayempur Herbals says more people are turning to natural remedies because they're frustrated with their health.

"They've been on pharmaceutical drugs or they've had accidents and they're not getting the results they want to see. Things are taking longer than they like or there are side effects from practices or some of the methods being used."

Hickey says natural medicine is really going back to our roots.

"It's kind of tapping into the wisdom of nature, the wisdom of plant-based medicine, the wisdom of people from ages ago before technology became such a dominant factor in our health care. Thank God we have the health care we have. Thank God we have antibiotics and different things. But, in many cases they're being overused."

The expo will feature eight workshops for people of all ages - and despite the event being called Women's Health Naturally - Hickey says men are welcome as well.

Registration is required, with a discount for registering by November 1st. You can register at Town Square Market, Farmer's Markets and at dayempurherbals.com.

The expo is November 5th at the Dayemi Community Center at 218 N. Illinois in Carbondale.
