The Carbondale chapter of the NAACP hosts its annual breakfast to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Monday's event at the SIU Student Center Ballrooms coincides with the national holiday recognizing Dr. King's birthday.
Carbondale NAACP vice president Pepper Holder says the featured speaker will be SIU President and Carbondale campus interim chancellor Randy Dunn.
Holder says this is an event to help bring awareness to the issues facing the community.
The breakfast begins at 8 a.m. Monday at the SIU Student Center Ballrooms. It costs $5 per person. You can get tickets at the door that morning.
