Media Advisory - Live 12th Congressional District Debate in Marion

Carbondale, Ill. -- Reporters, camera crews, and photographers are invited to cover the second of three live congressional debates between 12th District Democratic candidate William Enyart of Belleville, Republican candidate Jason Plummer of O'Fallon, and Green Party candidate Paula Bradshaw of Carbondale.

The debate will take place this Thursday, September 20 at 7pm at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center, 208 S. Market Street, in Marion. The general public has been invited to attend, with general admission tickets provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

WSIU-TV's Jak Tichenor will moderate the debate, with questioning from Jennifer Fuller of WSIU Public Radio, Gary Metro of the Southern Illinoisan newspaper, and Beth Hundsdorfer of the Belleville News-Democrat newspaper.

The 90-minute debate will air live on the WSIU Radio stations WSIU 91.9 FM, WUSI 90.3 FM, and WVSI 88.9 FM and will be streamed live at thesouthern.com and bnd.com. WSIU-TV will record the debate for broadcast on its digital channels, WSIU-TV 8.1 and WUSI-TV 16.1,on Friday, September 21 at 8pm.

Public and commercial TV and radio stations will be allowed to air the debate within 48 hours of the event, but will not be permitted to air the debate live.

Credentialed members of the news media must sign in to receive press passes before entering the Civic Center auditorium. Media also will be provided with working space, a mult. box with video and audio feeds, and Internet access.
