A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through Thursday evening for the region along and north of Route 13.

The National Weather Service says snow accumulations of 1-3 inches are expected, with the heaviest amounts expected generally north of Interstate 64.
"The majority of the snow will be starting late tonight after Midnight in far northern areas and then working its way south and east throughout the day tomorrow," said meteorologist Brittany Peterson in the NWS Paducah office. "The heaviest snow will be probably tomorrow morning. Make sure, in the morning, to allow for plenty of extra travel time."

Peterson says this system is expected to produce only snow, no freezing rain or sleet, since the temperatures are expected to stay below freezing until Monday.
