The Marion VA Medical Center has a new leader.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has appointed Jo-Ann Ginsberg as the facility's new director. She is expected to start within 30 to 45 days.
Ginsberg comes to southern Illinois from South Dakota, where she was Associate Director of Patient Care Services at the VA Black Hills Health Care System.

The Marion VA Medical Center is a general medical and surgical facility that operates 55 acute care beds and a 60 bed Community Living Center. It cares for nearly 44-thousand Veterans annually.

The facility also supports ten outpatient clinics that provide primary care and behavioral medicine services in Carbondale, Harrisburg, Mt. Vernon and Effingham as well as portions of southwestern Indiana and western Kentucky.
