Back on June 8th, 2017, Carbondale Chancellor Brad Colwell announced that, starting on July 1st, the University Museum would close.
In front of the Museum at Faner Hall this morning as well–wishers placed flowers and notes of support for those let go, the lone staff member, Susannah Munson, will spend time preparing the 70–thousand plus items for safe storage. The Outgoing Curator of Exhibits, Alison Erazmus said that southern Illinois has lost an important educational resource.
