Jefferson Co Man Dies in Collision

A Bonnie man was killed and six others were injured after a head-on collision on Rend Lake Dam Road Sunday evening.
Franklin County coroner Marty Leffler says 41-year-old Craig Payne was pronounced dead at Franklin Hospital in Benton shortly after the crash.  Payne was driving a van with his wife and four children when a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Tabitha Weeks of West Frankfort hit it head on.  Payne's wife Marla was treated for several broken bones and later released from the hospital.  Ten-year-old Pierce Payne was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital. The other three children, 16-year-old William, 12-year-old Deloris and six year old Jodi Anne were treated for minor injuries. Weeks was airlifted to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis with undisclosed injuries.
