It's been a banner year for fundraising at Illinois State University.
The Normal-based school has announced it set a fundraising record by raising $19.5 million in the fiscal year that ended June 30. That compares with $14.8 million during the previous year. Illinois State President Larry Dietz says the money will help the university accomplish its mission. The money raised will go toward various projects and programs. That includes student scholarships and endowed faculty positions.
The record-setting tally includes two donations of $1 million or more. In all, more than ten-thousand alumni offered some form of gift to the university during the fiscal year.
