Illinois Gubernatorial Debate to Air Live on WSIU 10/9/14

WSIU-TV, Radio to Carry Illinois Gubernatorial Debate

Debate to air live on WSIU-TV, WSIU Radio This Thursday, October 9

Carbondale, Ill. -- WSIU Public Broadcasting, WTVP (Peoria), WILL/Illinois Public Media (Urbana), WUIS Public Radio (Springfield), and the League of Women Voters of Illinois will present a LIVE Illinois Gubernatorial Debate between incumbent Democratic Governor Pat Quinn of Chicago and Republican nominee Bruce Rauner of Winnetka on Thursday, October 9 at 8pm.

Sponsored regionally by Forbes Financial Group, the one-hour debate will air live on WSIU Public Television and WSIU Public Radio, on other public media stations around the state, and online at wtvp.org.

WSIU-TV senior producer Jak Tichenor, host of Illinois Lawmakers, will moderate with questioning by H. Wayne Wilson, host/producer of WTVP's At Issue; Amanda Vinicky, statehouse bureau chief for Illinois Public Radio, at WUIS; and Jamey Dunn, executive editor and reporter for Illinois Issues magazine and WUIS Public Radio.

The public is welcome to submit questions for consideration in advance through the WTVP website at www.wtvp.org.

Additional TV stations carrying the debate are WTTW (Chicago), WEIU (Charleston), WQPT (Quad Cities), WSEC (Springfield), WMEC (Macomb), and WQEC (Quincy). Other radio stations broadcasting the debate are WBEZ-FM Chicago, WCBU-FM Peoria, WVIK-FM Quad Cities, WUSI-FM Olney, WVSI-FM Mt. Vernon, and WNIJ-FM (DeKalb).
