With winter weather in the area, Illinois State Police warn drivers about an expansion of Scott's Law.

Also known as the Move Over Law, it requires drivers to reduce speed, change lanes if possible, and proceed with caution when approaching emergency vehicles.
But, as of January 1st, the Move Over Law was amended to not only include emergency vehicles, but also vehicles disabled on the roadside with their flashers activated.

Troopers say if you see flashing lights on any vehicle, you are now required to move out of the lane adjacent to the emergency or disabled vehicle, if possible.
