IL GOP Working to Attract Latino Voters
Many minority voters aren't likely to vote for Republicans - something the party is aware of.
Illinois House Minority Leader Tom Cross says while Republicans politicians at the national level don't historically do well with Latino voters: “I think the tone and the rhetoric from a lot of people around the country on the Republican Party is inappropriate when it comes to issues like immigration.”
Meanwhile, Cross says Republicans in Illinois have voted in favor of legislation that benefits Latinos and other minorities. Still Cross says they can do better. Cross admits attracting Latino voters is a challenge but says the GOP has acted with minorities in mind and says the Republican Party can do better in reaching out to minorities, especially at the national level.
