Hybrid Medical Clinic Opens in Marion

Southern Illinois' first hybrid medical clinic is set to open.

Heartland Regional Medical Group held an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Tuesday at the brand new clinic located in the Marion Crossing complex on The Hill in Marion.
Heartland director of Occupational Health and Express Care Brandi Meyer says the facility will include Express Care, Occupational Medicine and Family Medicine. She says providers will be cross-trained to help area employers maintain a healthy workforce.

"After hours, when our Express Care is open until 9 o'clock at night, 7 days a week, we can serve the need of the area employers if they have an injury with an employee that doesn't require an emergency room visit, we can save them thousands of dollars by choosing to come to a walk-in clinic. In addition, we also have on-site digital x-ray and we have a community-based lab in our facility as well, so that anybody will be able to bring in their orders from any physician and have their lab work done here with community-based pricing."

Heartland Regional Medical Center CEO Melisa Adkins came up with the idea after collaborating with similar facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Heartland Regional's new clinic on The Hill begins regular operations Wednesday.
