Hardin Co Woman Accused of using Internet to Hook Up with a Minor

A woman from Hardin County has been charged in federal court with using the internet to arrange sex with a minor.

United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Steve Wigginton announced Thursday that 23 year old Heather Banks, of Rosiclare, is alleged to have used the internet recently to induce a minor to engage in illegal sexual acts, according to a Criminal Complaint filed Thursday in federal district court in Benton. The complaint alleges that Banks offered the minor sex, in exchange for the minor bringing her prescription medications.
This particular offense carries a penalty of 10 years, up to life in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a term of supervised release from 5 years to life, if convicted.
