A Herrin man is in custody after a deadly shooting.
Police say they responded to a Herrin residence shortly before 1 p.m. Friday after a report of a shooting.
Officers say the victim was later pronounced dead at Herrin Hospital.
The suspect, 23-year-old Cory Finney, was taken into custody a short time later. He is charged with aggravated battery.
The Herrin Police Department is not releasing the victim's name or any further details right now, pending notification of the victim's family.
