One of the four finalists for the chancellor's position at SIU-Carbondale has withdrawn from consideration.
J.S. (Jeff) Elwell has withdrawn from the search due to his appointment as president of Eastern New Mexico University.
Elwell just went through the interview process on the Carbondale campus last week.
The 2nd candidate interview takes place this week.
Oakland University President George Hynd will have his public forum on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. in Morris Library's John Guyon Auditorium.
The other two finalists, interim Chancellor Brad Colwell, and University of Alabama Vice President For Research And Economic Development Carl Pinkert will have their interviews next week.
