Franklin-Williamson Regional Superintendent of Schools Matt Donkin says he will run for election in the newly expanded district.
Donkin has served as Franklin-Williamson Regional Superintendent since 2007. During the 2012 legislative session, lawmakers mandated population requirements on regional offices that forced several consolidations. This year the state board of education approved the reorganization plan. Candidates running for Regional Superintendent will run in the new consolidated districts in the 2014 election cycle.
Donkin says he plans to file his petitions Monday with the state board of elections to run for Superintendent for the new Franklin-Williamson-Johnson-Massac regional office of education.
