Columbus Ship Replicas to Stay in Cape Girardeau a Little Longer

Sign
Brad Palmer, WSIU Radio

If you didn't get a chance to see the replicas of Christopher Columbus' ships in Cape Girardeau, you're in luck, there stay has been extended.
Due to the low river water in Memphis and the response in Cape Girardeau, the 'Pinta' and the 'Nina', will remained docked along the Mississippi River in Cape Girardeau through Sunday.

Both ships tour together as a new and enhanced 'sailing museum' to educate the public and school children on the 'caravel', a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers to discover the world. No reservations are necessary.

Teachers or organizations wishing to schedule a 30 minute guided tour with a crewmember should call 787-672-2152 or visit ninapinta.org.
