Carbondale Murder Suspect Makes First Court Appearance

Carbondale, IL – The Carbondale man accused of killing a Marion woman two years ago will be back in court later this month.
Twenty four year old Elijah Lacey made his first court appearance in Jackson county today. He was arrested Monday and charged with first degree murder in the death of 21 year old Falon Taylor in January 2007.
Lacey's preliminary hearing is set for February 27th.
Lacey's accused of breaking into a Carbondale home on January 6th, 2007, and firing shots into the bedroom where Taylor was sleeping, striking her.
Taylor's children, two boys now ages 4 and 3, are living with their grandparents.
