Bookkeeper For PFPD Admits to Stealing $450,000

People
Perry County Sheriff's Office
Tammy Kellerman

The former bookkeeper for the Pinckneyville Fire Protection District had admitted to stealing funds from the entity.

The U.S. attorney's office says 53-year-old Tammy Kellerman of Pinckneyville pleaded guilty to mail fraud.
Kellerman said she stole over $450,000 in funds from the fire protection district between 2004 and 2013. She regularly sent unauthorized checks drawn from the district's bank account to pay her personal credit card bills and other expenses. Then, Kellerman made false entries in the district's accounting software to hide her thefts.

Kellerman faces up to 20 years in prison on each of the four counts. She must also make full restitution to the Pinckneyville Fire Protection District.

Kellerman will be sentenced on May 24th.
