One of the defense attorneys for Rod Blagojevich during the former governor’s corruption trial is running for Illinois attorney general.
Aaron Goldstein was elected Democratic committeeman for Chicago’s 33rd ward on Chicago's northwest side after Blagojevich’s trial.
His campaign fund had barely more than $2-thousand dollars in it at the end of June.
Democratic State Senator Kwame Raoul and State Representative Scott Drury have also declared they’re running for the open seat. So far, the only Republican in the race is Erika Harold of Urbana.
Last week - incumbent Lisa Madigan made the surprise announcement she would not seek re-election.
