A Metro East Democrat is throwing his hat into the ring, hoping to unseat Congressman Mike Bost.
CJ Baricevic hasn't run his own political campaign before, but his father, grandfather, and uncle have all served or are still serving. He says having the desire to help people is critical.
As long as you can make the commitment to represent the people that you promise to represent to the best of your ability, that is the most important qualification. ~CJ Baricevic
"As long as you can make the commitment to represent the people that you promise to represent to the best of your ability, that is the most important qualification."
Baricevic's father, John, was a long-time Chair of the St. Clair County Board and is now a judge. He's the first Democrat to officially announce his campaign for the 12th district.
For their part, Republicans were quick to fire back. The National Republican Congressional Committee says Baricevic is too liberal and doesn't fit with the ideals of the voters in the district.
