Three employees at two southern Illinois correctional facilities were recognized during an awards ceremony in Springfield Wednesday.

Kyle Robson at the Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg is the 2017 Juvenile Justice Specialist of the Year. He is a qualified Crisis Prevention Institute trainer and a screener for the agency to assist civilian applicants who want a job with the department.
Another IYC-Harrisburg employee, John Warshawsky, is the 2017 Program Staff of the Year. He is credited with taking the Juvenile Sex Offender Program to the next level by looking for ways to incorporate the latest treatment techniques that are most therapeutic for the youth population.
