In the 12th Congressional Primary race Democrat Brad Harriman won the nomination with 69% of the vote over Ken Wiezer. Chris Miller pulled out of the race and endorsed Harriman.
In the Republican 12th District Primary Jason Plummer garnered 55% of the vote over Roger Cook and Theresa Kormos.
Plummer and Harriman will meet in the general election for the seat held by long-time southern Illinois Congressman Jerry Costello, who decided not to run for re-election.
