The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says the body of one of the two people who drowned Sunday afternoon in the Mississippi River has been recovered.
Deputies say the body of 50-year-old David Totten was pulled from the river about 12 miles south of Grand Tower around 12:30 Wednesday morning. It was spotted by a helicopter pilot from Southern Skyz Aviation who was assisting law enforcement in the search.

Search crews from the Jackson and Union County Sheriff's Offices, the Illinois Department of Conservation Police and Southern Skyz Aviation are continuing the search for 13-year-old Paul Johnson.

Johnson and Totten, both of DuQuoin, were swimming in the Mississippi River near the beach area of Devil's Backbone Park in Grand Tower on Sunday when they were caught up in the current and pulled under water.
